Child Contact Services
Providing a safe, welcoming space for children to connect with their families and significant others.
Safe Environment
A neutral space for children to enjoy quality time with parents, siblings or other significant people in ther lives in comfort.
We have a family space, a young children's room and a sensory facility for neurodiverse/anxious children.
Quality Time
Facilitating meaningful interactions between children and their loved ones in a supportive atmosphere.
Please note we provide SUPPORTED contact ONLY. We do NOT supervise contact, nor do we provide reports.
Established in 2008 at Joymount Church, we moved to the brand new YMCA building at Irish Quarter West a few years later. In February 2022, following refurbishment of the Georgian building, we opened our bespoke facility at 13 West Street - the only child contact centre in Northern Ireland to be open five days a week, with distinct spaces for different ages of children and a professional sensory room.
Our services
As a registered charity, we provide our services free of charge to all our service users.
We provide SUPPORTED contact facilites ONLY. We do not supervise families utilising our facilities, and we do not provide reports to other family members, referrers or other agencies unless we identify a safeguarding concern.
Referrals will only be accepted by use of our referral form, via solicitors, courts or social services. Upon receipt of a referral, our staff will make contact with the referred parties to arrange a mandatory, individual pre-assement visit at our centre.
Referral forms are available upon request from our office: contact@carrickccc.co.uk or from our referral page.
Once the referral process is completed, we will agree a start date with all referred parties.
We welcome referrals for children between the ages of birth and 16 years. We have facilities for all ages, divided between diferent spaces - a room designed for children up to approx. age 8 years, a family room for all ages, and a professionally designed and installed sensory room. Families are welcome to use whichever space best suits their needs - our staff will support and assist.
Our facilities are fully accessible from the street, with a ramp at the front door. We have an accessible toilet and kitchen with a microwave, electric oven/hob, tea/coffee making facilities etc. which families are welcome to use. Please note there is no parking in West Street, the nearest car park is at the Castle (no parking fee).
